Netiquette

"Netiquette" is the proper etiquette when interacting online.   Interactions online are both direct and indirect, since most items posted are permanent.  Knowing how to interact appropriately saves you embarrassment and keeps others from being offended by the content you post.

  • Snopes.com is a great site to check on whether something you receive in e-mail, Facebook or other social networking sites is true, or a hoax. Before passing anything on to others, take a moment to check validity! Once you access the site, you can search for the topic in question. To test it out, try searching "sick child" to see examples.
